We
were commissioned to build a playhouse for a client’s lucky little
girl. This playhouse was constructed the same as a full size custom home.
- Starting off with a solid foundation, using Pier & Beam construction
is the first noticeable attribute of this playhouse.
- All the framing of this playhouse is put together exactly like a
real home. Even "Hurricane Steel" is used.
- Using the same techniques, just on a smaller scale, the construction
continues. This is one playhouse that will last for a long time
- The front of the house has some interesting attributes, the front
door was custom made, specs provided by Smith Custom Builders to fit
this tiny home. The door measures 5 foot 8 inches tall and only 28 inches
wide. All of the exterior trim and widow coverings were custom made
in our woodshop.

- Adding the finishing touches on the exterior includes a front porch
with porch rails. It all comes down to the detail, one of Smith Custom
Builder's fine points.
- Fish cut cedar wood shingles accent this lovely playhouse. Underneath
is a sheet of Kool Ply Decking - "This should keep the light bill
down."

- Accent pieces were custom made in Smith Custom Builders’ woodshop.
- Working windows

- Air conditioned
- Working phone lines
- Vinyl flooring

- Interior accented with pastel colors. Faux painting and custom curtains
to match.

- We framed the little home with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams.
